The Estate

In 1272 the Abbey of San Galgano established a wine production village in Frosini, along the pilgrim route "Francigena". Today the Nenni family, together with an International team of Researchers, continues this path: the Sangalgano Project.

All located on the hills of a Natural reserve at 530 mt. above sea level, South-SouthWest exposure and 360 ┬░constant breeze. All work is hand made to deliver the best quality. Grapes are hand picked after a severe selection process. Oh yes, we're Organic.

Our method

As growing shape we build the traditional Tuscan tree. We take care of each vine individually. Winter&Green cuts are practiced to optimize plant's lymph system. We keep a ratio of 1,5 Kg grapes/plant and we do not use artificial watering. Natural and Organic vinification.

People

Pierpaolo & Sara Nenni, after being for a while in Rome and Stockholm working as managers in Media and Aerospace industry, moved to Tuscany to find San Galgano's wine roots together with a talented team of researchers. And Nenni Toscana was born.

100% Sangiovese like anybody else. Single Vineyard, Organic, Hand grown & Handpicked, 2 Years in small French oak, 1 Year refinement in bottle. Natural vinification. Elegant, complex and balanced aromatics of roses, red fruits, almond and spices, cigar box with fine grain tannins in finish. A value to be stored for decades, an intense pleasure to discover today, slowly, after (at least) 1 hour decanting.
